In the previous chapter, I explained that, according to science, the universe started with flawless natural laws. So, I stated that the universe readily found these laws that would create itself. However, I asked, “It is right that our nature found the laws ready, but what did the laws find ready at hand and created this universe?” This is a very important question because, according to the science literature, we only have the information that the raw material of the universe is the unidentified substance that we call energy. Now, we naturally think that the laws of physics were formed in accordance with this energy upon meeting it. In other words, we think that whatever properties this thing has, the laws are structured and completed in line with those properties; however, science doesn’t think so. Now, let me give some information on this subject from the book of the late Physics Professor Stephen Hawking.

“Even if there were events that occurred before the Big Bang, these events cannot be used to determine what would happen afterward because predictability is disrupted with the Big Bang. On the other hand, as it stands now, knowing only what has happened since the Big Bang means that we cannot determine what happened before that.” Stephen Hawking, A Brief History of Time. pp.69-70

At singularity, general relativity and all other laws of physics become dysfunctional; in other words, it is impossible to predict what the singularity will result in. As explained earlier, this means that the Big Bang and everything that happened before it can be excluded from the theory. Space-time would have a boundary, a beginning with the Big Bang” ibid. p.161

Let me make it more comprehensible for those who are not familiar with the subject. As it is known, the universe started with the Big Bang, and the Big Bang started with the laws of physics. The Big Bang is also the moment when science began, that is, it is the limit of science backwards. Therefore, the laws of physics that existed before the Big Bang do not work, and therefore science itself does not work either.

Hawking underlines this scientific reality and draws attention to the obscurity and uncertainty in the pre-Big Bang singularity of the Universe. Moreover, he does not stop at the singularity and carries the uncertainty to the initial conditions of the universe. Hawking evaluated the possible developments of some important models regarding the initial state and concluded with the following statement.

“We cannot claim that most initial conditions would lead to a situation similar to what we see today. Both the initial conditions that would lead to a universe like ours and those that would not lead to a universe like ours have infinite natural measures. Therefore, it cannot be claimed that one is bigger than the other”) ibid. P.102-103-104

Let me make it comprehensible again. In summary, Hawking says that there was no guarantee that this universe would exist, depending on the initial conditions. He even concludes saying that there was as much chance of this universe not existing as there was of existing. Shortly, the situation is still uncertain.

Following this information, our topic is now the question, “What did the laws find ready enabling them to create this universe?”  In fact, according to scientific data, the answer to my question is short and clear, but not simple at all, and it is also very important!

Yes, I said the answer is short and clear because whatever the laws of physics have found ready in their hands, it was something that was unpredictable and uncertain regarding what will result and emerge from it. That’s why we can’t exactly define what the laws found since the state of that thing is a mystery; the answer is that simple.

As for the situation which is not that simple at all, I can say, yes, science says that the Universe began with laws, but the same science also says that it is a high probability that that our universe does not exist within initial conditions. So much that, even Professor Richard Muller mentioned this challenging situation in his book “Now: The Physics of Time” with the title “Impossible Universe”. Anyway, in layman’s terms, our universe came into being as a result of countless miraculous events.  This situation makes the question “What did the laws find ready at hand?” very important. Now let’s go into detail. Of course, first it is necessary to give the definition of the laws of physics.

Dictionary definition for ‘Laws of physics’: a rule that does not allow anything out of the ordinary exist in the course of events and shows immutability and obligation.

As it can be seen, according to the dictionary definition, ordering elements such as the laws of physics necessarily can be established on things that have known qualities. Logically this is the case, but the initial situation is very difficult for logic. For example, science says that this universe was unpredictable in the beginning, but it also states that the universe began with laws. This means that, despite all the enigmas, the laws were able to foresee this universe from a to z, creating flawless rules and carrying them into the realm of existence, weren’t they? Yes, but how did they achieve that? The question marks are here.

The primary question is, we said that the laws found something ready that was uncertain about what would happen. Then, how could laws be shaped upon a factor that was uncertain and whose properties are unknown? It is not possible because, first, it is necessary to figure out in detail what the uncertain thing at hand is, that is, to reveal its characteristics, so that it can create a law accordingly. However, whatever these laws of physics are like, whatever they did – as if they had a mind – somehow created this universe by formulating a law upon an uncertain thing. This is where another big enigma shows up. Out of necessity of course, as always, I will make speculative comments on this subject based on scientific data.

Let me repeat this: we said that science, which says that laws before the Big Bang would be dysfunctional, also says that laws started the universe. So, this means that the laws of physics existed before the Big Bang and were arranged in accordance with this universe. Of course, since time had not yet existed, it cannot be said how long ago it was. Then why should they be defined as dysfunctional? Well, if laws really or assumingly existed, even if the laws were dysfunctional before the Big Bang, it is foreseeable that this universe would exist within those laws. Moreover, if something is dysfunctional, it means that it exists but is not active. So, unpredictability is the problem of science. There can be no such problem as unpredictability in laws. Of course, science does not and cannot answer this issue. Because it’s out of its limits.

So what do we understand from this? Why did I go into so much detail? In fact, there is a very important situation about the laws of physics that is not often mentioned. That’s why I wrote these. Now let’s move on to that topic.

As I wrote in previous chapters, science says that mathematics does not need an object, it is independent of the object. Of course, since the Universe consists of objects, mathematics is also independent of the Universe. So hold on tight now! If mathematics is independent of the universe, then this mathematics is also independent of the laws of physics; it is beyond the laws of nature, right? Because, as Hawking stated, the laws of physics are only a system of laws related to this universe. Now we have arrived at the main point!

All these show that there is mathematics above and beyond the laws of physics! That real mathematics, whatever it is, has arranged these laws of physics accordingly with the properties of what we call energy at hand. In this case, we are facing a mathematics beyond the laws of physics.

Let me make a note here that I am not trying to take the subject to a power like God with the mathematics I mentioned. Here I am only examining the ontological situations of the universe and our existence story. However, let me return to the subject by saying that according to science, there was no element anywhere in the existence of the universe, that had the intelligence to examine the object and create laws on it.

As you can see, we move around and come back to mathematics again. Our topic was the question “What did the laws find ready?” In answer, we saw that the raw material of the universe, which we call energy, is something completely uncertain. Then in the end, it turned out that the real knot was the order in nature, that is, mathematics. At the same time, it was understood that it was not important that the raw material at hand was uncertain because even if the situation of singularity is not indeterminate but completely determinable, the problem is establishing laws on the development of the material. Take space-time for example. As I mentioned in my previous articles, before the beginning of the universe, neither space nor vacuum, nor time, existed. Laws have regulated and created all the elements we know, such as space and void. Well, how is this possible? Especially the non-object time element. Indeed, it is surprising that without any available example or knowledge the laws designed a time that never existed, and that is completely abstract.

Now, those who are not familiar with the subject here may say, “Time is a period that begins and flows, why should it be surprising?” However, this is a big mistake because physical time in the universe is not a time that flows like water as people think, it is very different. In fact, there is almost no similarity between the time that humans perceive and the physics time. In short, there is no time flowing at a constant speed anywhere in the universe, and there never has been. That’s why there are surprising situations between the laws of physics, mathematics and time. We will go into details in the next part.
