There Is No Flowing Time In Nature

Until this section, I have continuously dealt with many unknowns or unanswered questions about the states of the universe before the Big Bang. Also I drew attention to how those laws could exist and create this universe. Now, we will look at the state of the laws of nature, in other words, the laws of physics, at the moment of the big bang and at the time immediately after. At the end of the previous section, before moving on to what the laws of physics do, I stated that the subject of space-time -especially the subject of time, at the beginning, , was a very complex and surprising formation. So, let’s first deal with the subject of space-time and then we will continue with mathematics. Let’s start with a quote from award-winning physics professor Richard Muller.

“There was neither space nor time “before” the Big Bang; Richard A. Muller Now: The Physics of Time P. 140.

“Space and time are connected by relativity. We do not live in space and time, we live in space-time.” Richard Muller ibid. P. 140

What Prof. Muller says is that space and time are not two separate things, but combined features. This has been proven through many experiments. Now let me try to explain this issue as clearly as possible.

First of all, space is not a void, it is an object. All the space in universe consists of quantum fields made up of energy. In other words, what is seen as space is not empty, it is areas that contain energy, though very diluted. We call the outer boundaries covered by these areas containing energy as ‘volume’ or ‘space’. Therefore, space cannot be formed without something inside. If we make an analogy, it can be compared to the situation of an deflated empty balloon and an inflated full balloon. However, there is a difference, an uninflated balloon is still an object even though it is empty, but empty space has no object. In other words, there is no space in existence.

We said that space has no outer line because when quantum fields create space, they do not try to go into something and fit in or make room for themselves. By oscillating and vibrating on their own, they create the area they cover, which we call ‘space’. In this case, no matter its scale, the volume or area called space also has a distance between its beginning and end, and all phenomena occur by moving at their own specific distances. Of course, moving means spending energy. However, spending energy requires a process,  and everything can spend energy at a certain speed range. In other words, events change their energy at intervals that we call moment by moment. These speed intervals that energy uses for movement are called time. Let me clarify this a little more.

As is known, time is called the fourth dimension. However, this dimension is not a dimension that exists separately from other dimensions. Time exists inherently in all other dimensions because as I mentioned above, the dimensions we call width, length and depth have distances on their own scales between the beginning and the end. Including a dot, all objects within the scope of the Planck length contain distance within their structures. These distances are created by vibrations that are called frequency. In other words, by covering the distance they create, they also use the time they create. In fact, vibration, or frequency, is the number of vibrations per unit second. In other words, it can be measured by giving time. In addition, time is an element used for distance and movement duration in daily life, such as an hour’s trip, ten minutes of work, etc. To summarize the topic; there is no such thing as time flowing at an independent and constant speed in the universe. Every object in the system contains its own time within itself. To put it more simply; the element we know as time is something connected to movement. If there is no movement, there is no time, no space. The basis of the operating system of universe is like this.

Here, naturally the following may come to mind; you may say that there are objects such as mountains, stones, rocks, etc. that have remained stationary for millions or billions of years and do not move, but time does not stop. Of course, this would be a false speculation because all objects such as mountains, stones, iron, steel, that exists are made up of atoms, and all atoms are constantly in motion due to their structure consisting of quantum. Therefore, in the quantum world, movement does not stop, and if it does, time stops. Let me explain this subject with a fictional story for easier understanding.

Let’s say that God exists and for some reason, in his own realm, he created a device with a calendar and clock. Then he adjusted this device according to the calendar and clock on Earth. Thus, the clock next to him started working simultaneously with the clock on Earth. Let’s say again that after a while, for some reason, he decided to stop the movement in the universe. He looked at the device in front of him, the calendar showed February 20, 2024, twelve o’clock, and pressed the button. At that moment, the movement in the entire universe froze, the physical structure stopped completely. After a while, God came back and looked at the calendar, the calendar showed 2124, meaning 100 years had passed. Then simply, God pressed the button to set the universe in motion again. At that moment, the entire universe and everything that had stopped on Earth started to move where it left off. In short, the bird that froze while flying, the stone that froze while falling, the waving sea, the moving people, etc. everything that was frozen down to its atoms started to work at that moment. Now, what does the time in the world show in this case? The answer is very simple. The calendar and clock on Earth will start again from the moment it froze, that is, from twelve o’clock on February 20, 2024.

As it is understood, God’s clock in his realm that is synchronized to Earth did not stop because it was outside the universe and continued to work, and 100 years passed, but since the movement in the world froze and stopped, there time remained the same and did not pass. If the time in the universe was independent of events and flowed by itself, then the clock on Earth should have shown the same 100 years later as God’s clock. Since there is no passing time, when the movement stopped, time also stopped. In summary, since the introduction of Einstein’s theory of relativity we know that time does not flow steadily, but varies due to gravity force and speed. This has been proven many times. Let me explain this reality of time by giving an example from the mobile phones you all use.

Mobile phones work using the time equations of the GPS (Global Positioning System) theory of relativity. To enable this system to find the location of the transmitted signal, the satellite and the clock on Earth must be synchronized, otherwise it cannot be used because gravity slows down time. For this reason, the clocks on Earth are 38 milliseconds behind the clocks on the satellites that are about twenty kilometers above. This means that the locations of the devices to which the signals will originate and go will deviate by kilometers. For this reason, NASA sends away the satellites with their clocks already synchronized with the speeds of the clocks on Earth. In this way, we can communicate with everyone in the world instantly.

What would happen if this time difference between the satellite clocks and the clocks on Earth were not eliminated through synchronization? In that case, even if you called your friend sitting next to you, the signal you sent would never find and contact your friend’s phone even if it was ten centimeters away, that is, there would be no phone call. This is the state of time in the universe. That is why I said in the previous section that it is an amazing result that the laws of physics, in a colloquial sense, look at the raw material we call energy and predict or design an interesting mechanism like space-time while no existing example was available.

Also, at the beginning, the system we call ‘statistical mathematics’ was in effect. As you know, statistics is a field of mathematics that requires quantity, that is, objects or data to be counted. Therefore, at the beginning, when there was nothing to count yet, when there was no object, the inherent existence or design of such a numerical system is also very thought-provoking.

Finally, there is another feature regarding time. According to science, time moves intermittently throughout the universe. If we make an analogy, it does not flow smoothly, but continues frame by frame, like a film strip. There are also many surprising structures here for those who are not very familiar with the subject. Anyway, I will continue with all of them in the next part.
